CONTEXT

 

Since the Arab Spring of 2011 a series of social movements haveoriginated in different corners of world. In all this places are thecitizens, whether young people or not, who share a commonfeeling of disappointment and anger with the economic systemand the political establishment.Chile, as an economic, political and social system, has been foryears the paradigm for many Latin American societies, but theserevolts put into question a strict neo-liberal system.Chile is the country with the highest education fees in the worldand is also the fifth most unequal country in the distribution ofwealth. The students say that "the education system perpetuatesand accentuates the economic gap"DIARY OF A SCHOOL UNDER SIEGE is a documentaryfocusing on the student demonstrations being carried out inChile since 2011, that had been the most massive ones sincethe establishment of democracy.
